The Start of the Journey

Oh! My! Goodness! Y’all! We are having so much fun!!! Where do I begin?! I suppose I’ll start from the beginning. We woke up Monday morning bright eyed and full of energy. Then we ate a nutritious breakfast (eggs, sausage, and hash browns), packed our bags, and left campus to get to our boat. Once at the docks, we met our amazing, professional sailing crew and set sail for the first day of our 9 day adventure. It was a day of many firsts for just about everyone, and they took each novel experience with stride. For example, furling and tucking the main sail (pictured below). We ended they day with a trip to the beach, supper, and camp setup. Day 2 We got to sleep in till 4:30am. It was fantastic! Why did we get up at 4:30am, you ask yourself. Because we went crabbing, and that is when they eat. It was a blast! We caught around a bushel of crabs. The coolest part was getting to eat them after another boat ride and another trip to the beach! Better still, we are ending our night with a campfire and s’mores!
